The management of the affairs of the Academy is vested with the Board of Governors and the Executive Committee under it. Hon’ble Chef Minister of Kerala is the Chairman of the Board of Governors and the Executive Vice Chairman of the Academy is the Chairman of the Executive Committee. The major sections in the Academy are (i) the Flight Section headed by the Chief Flight Instructor (ii) the Maintenance Section headed by the Maintenance Manager, (iii) the Ground Class Section headed by the Chief Ground Instructor and (iv) the Administrative Section headed by the Secretary respectively. An Additional Secretary deputed from the Govt. Secretariat is the Secretary of the Academy. The Executive Vice Chairman is the overall administrative authority as well as the Accountable Manager, as per DGCA regulations of the Academy.
