Pilot Aptitude Test (PAT) – Syllabus & Examination Guidelines
Venue: Government Women’s College, Vazhuthacaud, Trivandrum
The Pilot Aptitude Test (PAT) is designed to evaluate candidates on key subjects necessary for a career in aviation. The test will consist of 50 marks, and candidates must adhere to the syllabus and instructions provided below:
Syllabus:
Physics (Up to Plus Two Level): 15 Marks
Mathematics (Up to Plus Two Level): 15 Marks
General Awareness (Current Affairs): 10 Marks
Basic Aviation Knowledge: 10 Marks

- Basic Aircraft Instruments: Airspeed Indicator, Altimeter, Artificial Horizons, Turn and Slip Indicator, Vertical Speed Indication, Heading Indicator.
- Fundamentals of Aerodynamics
- History of Aviation
- Basic Geography

Examination Guidelines:
Prohibited Items: Candidates are strictly prohibited from bringing mobile phones, calculators, smartwatches, or any other electronic devices into the examination hall.
Personal Belongings: All personal belongings, including bags, notes, and other materials, must be stored in designated areas outside the exam room.
Writing Tools: Candidates are required to use a blue ballpoint pen for the examination.
Scoring and Selection:
The PAT will be scored out of 50 marks.
Candidates who achieve a score of 25 marks (50%) or higher will be invited for an interview.
Final selection and ranking will be based on the combined performance in both the written examination and the interview.
Candidates are encouraged to prepare thoroughly and adhere strictly to the examination guidelines.
Ready to Fly Candidates:
Candidates under the “Ready to Fly” category (with a minimum of three DGCA papers) are exempted from the written test and are required to appear only for the interview. The interview is scheduled for November; the exact date will be communicated later.
